As a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), he has contributed a number of papers to IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, the International Journal of Control, and Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing. As a testament to his longevity in the field, Dr. Solak was a Fulbright scholar at Texas A&M University, as well as a recipient of the Best Paper of the Session Award for his article “Robust and Adaptive Control: Parallel and Complementary Approaches” at the American Control Conference in 1990. He also received a Research Award from the South African Foundation for Research Development in 1992. Impressively, he was the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019 and was highlighted in the 16th edition of Who’s Who in the World, which was published in 1998. A renowned figure in the field of applied mathematics, Dr. Marek Krzysztof Solak is internationally acclaimed for his contribution to solve polynomial matrix equations, PX+RY=W. The method, one of several published in the literature, is called Solak’s Method. In addition to this innovative discovery, he has contributed to linear system theory, robust stability, neural networks, outlier detection and evaluation, and SAS programming. Currently serving as the senior manager of statistical programming at Pacira BioSciences, Inc., in Parsippany, New Jersey, since 2017, Dr. Solak spent the formative years of his career as an educator and researcher before serving as a SAS programmer for Bristol- Myers Squibb, Merck & Company, and Johnson & Johnson, among other notable organizations.
