72 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION A fter beginning a career in political education due to a desire to educate himself on a topic with which he had little experience, Jonathon C. York found that his profession allowed him to share his discoveries while helping students follow a similar path. He earned a BA in politics from the Constantin College of Liberal Arts at the University of Dallas in 1994, followed by an MA in politics from the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts in 1999. Mr. York commenced his career as an adjunct instructor of government at the Northwest Campus of Tarrant County College, fulfilling this role from 2001 to 2003. He simultaneously served North Lake College as an adjunct instructor in government and developmental writing. From 2003 to 2005, he taught at North Lake College as a visiting scholar in government. Since 2005, he has been a professor of government at Mountain View College. In his position, he conducts research on three-dimensional operational models of ideological preference, designs comprehensive outcomes based on American government survey series, and develops individual ideological preference inventories. His primary research interests also include formal political theory, the semantics of political ideology, foundations of political thought, and indigenous politics of the Americas. A member of the American Political Science Association, Mr. York is affiliated with its Indigenous Studies Network and has contributed to its publication, Returning to the Circle, which is published through the University of New Mexico Press. Equally passionate about music education, he has been a musician and music educator for the Primrose School Musical Workshop and Mountain View College’s “Astronomy Day.” Furthermore, he has maintained a blog called “The Leo Test” for 15 years and has begun formalizing the blog using mathematical constructions. Mr. York, a resident astronomer for Mountain View College, is affiliated with the McDonald Observatory and the Planetary Society. He was highlighted in the 65th edition of Who’s Who in America, which was published in 2010. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue teaching and researching political theory. JONATHON C.
