8 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ADVERTISING, MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS A former advertising and business manager for The Catholic Sun in Phoenix, Arizona, for nearly two decades, Lynn R. Wurth retired from the advertising industry in 2004 after accruing nearly 50 years in the field. Commencing her career as president of Newman Auto Glass in 1958, she subsequently became a branch manager for National Auto Glass in 1976 and an account representative for Data Corporation in 1978. From 1981 to 1985, she also served as an account and sales representative for Computer Graphics. At the inception of her career, Ms. Wurth earned a diploma in business from Bowling Green State University in 1956. After gaining experience in her profession, she completed coursework at Phoenix College from 1978 to 1980. Delving into her profession because of the influence of her faith and upbringing, Ms. Wurth was led in the right direction due to the positive inspirations in her life. During her career, she served Soroptimist International of the Americas as governor from 1984 to 1986. In addition, she is a former president of the Phoenix Club and the National Association of Insurance Women, as well as a member of the Catholic Press Association and the Arizona Newspapers Association. Above all else, she enjoys seeing the happiness on the faces of young mothers and children when they have received a scholarship or grant through her organizations. In her youth, Ms. Wurth was an avid softball player, having been a professional softball fast-pitch pitcher. Moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1955 to play professional softball, she was a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. In 1981, she was inducted into the Southern Arizona Softball Fast Pitch Hall of Fame. Being on a team taught her the importance of coexisting with like-minded individuals and how to cope with loss and rejection. In light of her outstanding undertakings, she was selected for inclusion in the first edition of Who’s Who in the Media and Communication in 1997. LYNN R.
