82 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine E xcelling in his role as professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota for 37 years, Dr. Eric Klinger has held the title of professor emeritus since 2006. He commenced his career as a research associate with the Association of American Medical Colleges in 1957 before serving as a psychology trainee at various VA hospitals in Chicago. Beginning as an instructor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1960, he later accepted a long- term professorship at the University of Minnesota. During this tenure, Dr. Klinger held visiting professorships in Germany andwas named a fellowof theAmericanAssociation for theAdvancement of Science, the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association. The recipient of a PhD in psychology from the University of Chicago, he has contributed articles to esteemed journals and chapters to books, and was a manuscript reviewer for 49 journals. He authored three books: “Structure and Functions of Fantasy” in 1971, “Meaning and Void” in 1977 and “Day Dreaming” in 1990. Honored with myriad accolades, he was listed in Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals, the National Register of Health Service Providers and the Dictionary of International Biography. JONES, PHD D r. Francis T. Jones is a retired chemistry professor who worked at the Stevens Institute of Technology from 1964 to 2015 in myriad roles. Initially serving such facilities as the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Union Carbide Corporation and the Cookridge Laboratories, he held an interest in chemistry from a young age, noting that it is an excellent foundation for medical science. He obtained a BS from The Pennsylvania State University and a PhD from the New York University Tandon School of Engineering, later earning an honorary master’s degree in engineering from the Stevens Institute in 1975. The importance of chemistry to modern biology and medical science led to his designing and introducing a new undergraduate major, which he named Chemical Biology at Stevens Institute in 1979. Passionate about music, Dr. Jones was the first individual to interface a pipe organ with an electronic organ. He previously served as an organist and choir director for the Trinity Episcopal Church between 1990 and 2006, from whom he twice received an award in 1991 and 1995. Highlighted in Who’s Who in the East, he is a coveted member of the American Chemical Society.
