99 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine the Vactec Division of EG&G, Inc., and as president of Inmar, Inc., between 1985 and 1999. Throughout his lengthy career, Dr. Shaver has served such other corporations as the National Semiconductor Corporation, Xciton, Inc., and General Electric. He commenced his career as an instructor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and consultant for Foster-Miller Associates. Subsequent to his retirement, he also served as a board member and treasurer of Station KDHX in St. Louis from 2002 to 2010 and treasurer of the Dougherty Lake Subdivision from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, he has served as president of the Des Peres Rotary Club. Dr. Shaver became interested in radio in the early 1950s, boasting an innate curiosity about how radios worked. Becoming a licensed amateur radio operator in 1953, he was active in amateur radio until he began attending graduate school in 1960. Highly educated, Dr. Shaver holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master of Science and Doctor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A patentee in his fields, he has contributed technical publications regarding his research in solid state and physical electronics. He is most proud of being one of the early pioneers in light-emitting diode manufacturing, and he credits his success to his many mentors from the formative stages of his career. As a testament to his contributions, Dr. Shaver was honored with three IR-100 Awards from Industrial Research Magazine in Chicago in 1968, 1973 and 1974. Married to Joan C. Hille since 1962, he has three children: Christopher, Gregory and Amanda. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, world travel including the Arctic and Antarctica, photography and macroeconomics. D r. Paul J. Shaver is an accomplished electronics company executive who has amassed 40 fruitful years in the field. Most recently serving as general manager of the Vactec Optoelectronics Division of PerkinElmer, Inc., between 1999 and 2002, he previously served as president and director of technology of PAUL J.
