61 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine V ictor M. Renteria has been a high school mathematics teacher in the El Paso Independent School District since 1993, having previously served as a substitute teacher within the district from 1990 to 1992. Prior to becoming an educator, he was self- employed in El Paso, Texas, from 1985 to 1990; a Production Test Supervisor at Rockwell International from 1983 to 1985; and a Production Test Technician for GUS Manufacturing from 1977 to 1982. He commenced his career as a teller at El Paso Savings and Loans in 1975, holding that position for two years. Alongside his primary professional endeavors, he was a karate instructor from 1977 to 1992. Mr. Renteria attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), receiving a BS in electrical engineering, and has graduate hours towards both an MS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA. A certified teacher in the state of Texas, he twice served as President and Chapter Historian of the Gamma Gamma chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon and was the Engineering Content Instructor for the Summer Texas Pre-Engineering Program at UTEP from 1992 to 2008. He has also accrued more than 600 hours from attending continuing professional development sessions provided by the El Paso Independent School District. In an effort to remain abreast of developments within the industry, Mr. Renteria has past memberships with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Mathematical Association of America and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. He is also a 40-plus year contributor to both the UTEP Alumni Association, the TKE Educational Foundation, and in 2018 was designated as a “Life Loyal Teke.” As a testament to his success, Mr. Renteria has been named the National Honor Roll’s Outstanding Teacher every year since 2004 and received a 25 Year Service Pin from EPISD in 2018. He has been highlighted in the 59th and 60th editions of Who’s Who in America and the seventh and eighth editions of Who’s Who in American Education. VICTOR M.
