128 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS A prominent organ transplant surgeon and educator, Dr. Shujun Li has more than 35 years of industry experience. He has been an associate professor at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center since 1996 and formerly served as an assistant professor at the University of California, San Diego from 1991 to 1996, as well as a visiting professor at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center from 1987 to 1988. He commenced his career at the Peking University Health Science Center, formerly known as Beijing Medical University, as an assistant professor from 1982 to 1986. Alongside his primary professional endeavors, Dr. Li has maintained involvement as a senior consultant for the Association of Chinese Profiles in Dallas, Texas, since 1996, having previously served Beijing United Family Hospital and Clinics as a professor and chairman of the department of surgery from 2004 to 2014. He was also active with the Peking University Health Science Center as a professor and director of transplantation from 2003 to 2007 and the Organ and Tissue Acquisition Center of Southern California as medical director from 1994 to 1996. To prepare for his illustrious career, Dr. Li pursued formal education at the Capital University of Medical Sciences, where he earned an MD in 1966. He has maintained affiliation with the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the Southwestern Surgical Congress. Furthermore, he has contributed myriad articles to professional journals within his areas of expertise. Dr. Li was elected a fellow of the International College of Surgeons and selected for inclusion in the third edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, published in 2000. Married to Yuquin Wang since 1967, he is the proud father of two children, Yauyuan and Lily. He enjoys traveling and playing tennis in his spare time.
