154 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT D r. Arthur W. Rovine is an internationally acclaimed arbitrator and adjunct professor of law at the Fordham University School of Law, positions he has fulfilled since 2005. Previously employed with the law firm Baker & McKenzie for over 20 years, he has since been an arbitrator in international cases under ICSID, NAFTA, PCA, ICC and AAA/ICDR and was director of the annual Conference on International Arbitration and Mediation at Fordham Law School from 2006 to 2015. Alongside these responsibilities, he was the editor of the annual volume “Contemporary Issues in International Arbitration and Mediation: The Fordham Papers,” published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers during that period. Supported by 55 years of excellence in law, Dr. Rovine formerly served the U.S. Department of State as a first Agent of the U.S. Government to the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal. In addition, he is a past assistant professor at Cornell University and associate of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. To prepare for his career, Dr. Rovine pursued formal education at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a BA in 1958. He then attended Harvard Law School, earning an LLB in 1961. He continued his education in 1966, obtaining a PhD from Columbia University. He has been admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., and New York. He has contributed more than 40 articles on international law and arbitration to professional journals and served as an author, co-author and editor of several texts and journals. He is a former president of the American Society of International Law, chairman of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association, and chairman of the International Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the College of Commercial Arbitrators. As a testament to his success, Dr. Rovine was named a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and was presented with a Certificate of Merit from the American Society of International Law in 1974.
