116 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION O rdained to ministry by the Methodist Church in 1982, Rev. Dr. Robert William Ralph Jr. felt a calling to help others, much like he was helped during the early stages of his life. First serving as a pastor in the Church of Nazarene between 1980 and 1987, he then served in the same capacity at the Gibbsboro United Methodist Church from 1987 to 1989 and Chews United Methodist Church from 1989 to 1997. Ascending the ranks to senior pastor at the Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church from 1997 to 2010, he has since been a pastor and part-time clergyman at the New Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Clarksboro, New Jersey, since 2011. Likewise, he dedicated his expertise and professional drive to Camden County College, where he was a professor for 22 years. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Mid-American Nazarene College, Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian education from the United Theological Seminary, and an EdD from Century University, Rev. Dr. Ralph concluded his education by earning a Doctor of Ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary in 1993. A former commissioned officer and chaplain in the U.S. Navy, he was a member of the Conference Merger Committee of the United Methodist Church from 1988 to 2000. Attributing his success to his wife, Carla, who has served as a beacon of light and support throughout his career, Rev. Dr. Ralph cites a crowning achievement of his life to be witnessing the growth of the churches he pastored over the years, as well as watching his students succeed. He often receives cards from his former students, noting how influential he was in their young lives. In light of his outstanding contributions to religion and education, Rev. Dr. Ralph was inducted into the Point Pleasant Boro High School Hall of Fame in 2000 and received a Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from the U.S. Navy. Impressively, he was named Pastor of the Year by the Northwest Ohio District in St. Mary’s, Ohio, in 1981 and 1982. REV. DR. ROBERT WILLIAM RALPH JR.
