Jack Warren Salmon is a respected pharmacy educator and health care administrator who was involved in his profession for 49 years prior to his retirement in 2016. Most recently serving as a professor of pharmacy administration and health policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he previously served the university as head of the Department of Pharmacy Administration and coordinator of health policy and planning specialization beginning in 1984. Likewise, Dr. Salmon dedicated a significant amount of time to Hahnemann University Hospital in myriad educational and executive roles between 1968 and 1983, citing his faculty positions as highlights of his career. A fellow of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago, Dr. Salmon also enjoyed working with Dr. Charles Tourtellotte at Temple University on an arthritis study funded by the National Institutes of Health. An accomplished author as well, he has written and edited numerous books and articles, most recently authoring “Corporatization of Medicine: Loss of Professional Control & the Rise of Corporate Hegemon” in 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Drexel University, and a Master of Science and PhD from Cornell University. PHARMACY EDUCATOR University of Illinois at Chicago River Forest, IL D r. Bruce M. Russett received a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College in 1956 and an economics degree from the University of Cambridge in 1957. He achieved two PhDs from Yale University in 1961 and Williams College in 2011, and he also holds an honorary degree from Uppsala University in Sweden. The political science expert has since had a flourishing career as a professor at Yale University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At Yale, Dr. Russett was a professor of political science and international relations, department chair of political science and the director of United Nations studies from 1961 to 2011. Dr. Russett was also an instructor at MIT from 1961 to 1962. He is the author of multiple scholarly creative works and holds membership with the American Political Science Association. Dr. Russett became involved in his profession because of two ambitions: wanting to do something good for the world and wanting to see the world. He advises the next generation of professors to have solid mentors and a good circle of influence. In his free time, Dr. Russett enjoys tennis, hiking and classical music.
