Among his notable achievements, Dr. Delnik is most distinguished for his academic research and development of numerical techniques to simulate soil-structure interaction, as well as taking part in major design and construction projects worldwide. Launching and leading a technology-based manufacturing business as well, he also took over risk management, strategic planning and the development of major business opportunities for a leading energy company. Dr. Delnik is a recognized expert in plastics recycling who leads one of the largest companies in the field. He regularly presents at various industry conferences and forums, and also testifies at regulatory proceedings. He has also been listed in a number of Who’s Who publications. S tarting out in engineering, Dr. Alexander Delnik attended the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute (now known as the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture), receiving a Master of Science and PhD in 1983 and 1987, respectively. Upon receiving a doctorate degree, he served the institute as an engineer, senior researcher and lecturer between 1987 and 1991 before immigrating to the United States. From there, he was employed by Soil Tech, Inc., as an engineer and laboratory supervisor from 1991 to 1993 and Dames & Moore, Inc., as a project manager from 1993 to 1998. Realizing that he desired to know more about economics and strategy in his management positions, Dr. Delnik attended the Anderson School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles, receiving a Master of Business Administration in 1998. From 1998 to 2011, Dr. Delnik served Edison International as a manager of strategic planning and new business development.
