83 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Daniel A. Felicetti became involved in his profession to maximize learning and mentoring opportunities for students. He has been doing this for more than 40 years, and in five years, he plans to be doing the exact same thing. This love for teaching all started from his own education. Dr. Felicetti studied political science across the board. He received his Bachelor of Arts in 1963 from Hunter College, his Master of Arts in 1966 from New York University (NYU) and his PhD in 1971 again from NYU. He also received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Marian College, now Marian University, in 1999. Dr. Felicetti spent a decade at Fairfield University in Connecticut, teaching courses in American politics, then becoming chair of the department. In 1977, he served as special assistant to the president of the University before his career in administration began. From 1977 to 1980, Dr. Felicetti was the dean and academic vice president of Wheeling College, now called Wheeling Jesuit University. He was the senior vice president for academic affairs of the College of New Rochelle for one year, Southeastern University for two years and the vice president of academic affairs of the University of Detroit, now called the University of Detroit Mercy, for five years. In 1989, he became the president of Marian College for 10 years, and he subsequently served as president of Capital University. From 2001 to 2015, he was the founder of the Higher Education Leadership Projects consulting service. Aside from his full resume of leadership positions, Dr. Felicetti is the author of two published books and made 10 scholarly presentations. He was on the board of directors for the American Heart Association and served on the Presidents’ Summit for America’s Future. In 1994, he was the recipient of the Certificate of Recognition from Senator Richard Luger of the State of Indiana and he was inducted into the Hunter College Hall of Fame in 1986. Dr. Felicetti attributes his success to an extraordinary wife and family, as well as many excellent teachers, mentors, friends and colleagues. DR. DANIEL A.
