51 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine J ames Carlini is a noteworthy keynote speaker, author, business executive and consultant who has been serving as president of Carlini & Associates, Inc., in East Dundee, Illinois, since 1986. Specializing in mission critical networks and infrastructure, he commenced his career with Western Electric (Bell Laboratories) in Naperville, Illinois, in 1977 while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science at Roosevelt University. While completing coursework toward an MBA in management information systems and marketing at DePaul University, a degree he earned in 1982, he also served as a software engineer for Motorola for two years. Subsequent to these appointments, Mr. Carlini was a manager at Illinois Bell in Chicago from 1981 to 1983 and a Practice Area Director of telecommunications and computer hardware consulting at Arthur Young & Co. in Chicago from1983 to 1986. A 20-year adjunct professor at Northwestern University, he also briefly served in the same role at the Illinois Institute of Technology Stuart School of Business in 2010. Demonstrating versatility in his field, he has been a contributor editor to Electrical Contractor Magazine since 2015 and authored the book “Location Location Connectivity” in 2014. He also authored over 1,000 articles and whitepapers for various trade publications. Mr. Carlini has been used as an expert witness in civil and federal courts for AT&T, Sprint, the City of Chicago and others, including a U.S. Navy Court Martial, during his career. As Consultant to theMayor’sOffice, he impressively worked on the planning and design of the newChicago 911 Center, which was rated highly by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for many years. He also wrote a definitive whitepaper for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Intelligent Infrastructure and the Platform for Commerce, which was later referred to and adopted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In light of his exceptional achievements, Mr. Carlini received aNorthwestern University Alumni Professors Award in 1995 and Northwestern University Distinguished Teaching Award in 1996.
