58 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine H elen Reisler is a Renaissance woman and international speaker who has proved her mettle and contributed to innovation in the worlds of education, business, media and non-profit. After obtaining a BS in education and psychology from New York University, she commenced her first career as an elementary school teacher in New York City, where she created informational seminars for non-English speaking parents. After raising three children, she obtained an MS in critical thinking and reading from Long Island University in 1978, also serving as an adjunct lecturer for the university’s graduate school. Upon entering the business world, Ms. Reisler rose through the ranks at The New York Yellow Pages & Trade Directories, attaining the position of vice president of personnel and administration. She was honored as “Partner in Education” by the New York City Board of Education and highlighted by Sales & Marketing Magazine. The International Sales & Marketing Executives Club invited her to sit on the board, where she became a vice president. She also moderated the weekly cable TV show “The New York Business Forum.” Surviving two mergers and acquisitions, in 1985, she worked for Southwestern Bell as New York spokesperson and Northeast recruiter. Ms. Reisler has participated significantly with Rotary International after being invited to join the Rotary Club of New York as the first woman HELEN B. She has served in numerous positions, such as club president, district governor, public relations chair and community service chair. She represented Rotary International at the United Nations for 10 years, where she helped coordinate the annual “Rotary UN Day.” Ms. Reisler is renowned for her leadership during the 9/11 attack on New York City, when she led 185 Rotary members in recovery efforts and inspired donations of $1.4 million. Her accomplishments were noted in the centennial edition of the Rotarian magazine. Her image, depicting “Hope,” was included in a painting on a 100-foot wide Rotary centennial wall in Webb Field. A prolific writer, Ms. Reisler was the recipient of the Golden Poets Award. Ms. Reisler is a popular speaker at Global Model UN conferences and has received four awards of appreciation from the Italian Diplomatic Academy.
