66 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine R uth Hadfield Beatrice is a former elementary school educator of 40 years who retired from education in 1993 to pursue clinical hypnotherapy on a full-time basis. First establishing a private practice in Perkasie, Pennsylvania, in 1980, she has also been practicing hypnotherapy in Avalon, New Jersey, since 1980 and in Port St. Lucie, Florida, since 1999. Inspired to practice hypnotherapy after taking an adult course in the field during her years as a teacher, she became certified in clinical hypnotherapy by the Philadelphia Hypnosis Union Institute in 1980 and in hypno-anesthesia therapy by the National Board of Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anesthesiology in 1991. Most proud of her work in recreation centers during her teaching career, Ms. Beatrice notably taught dramatics, tap dancing, woodworking, craftwork and leatherwork, among other subjects. Spending seven nights per week at the centers, she was involved in extravagant shows annually and won dramatic awards every year. She cites the highlights of her career to have been working directly with children and watching them build up their confidence as they progressed through education. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science fromWest Chester University and Master of Science from Marywood College, Ms. Beatrice completedpostgraduate coursework at Pennsylvania StateUniversity and Temple University. During her tenure in education, she co- authored a book series on tutoring titled “Partners at Learning,” published in 1978, 1979 and 1983. She maintains affiliation with the Hypnosis Society of Pennsylvania, where she was vice president of the Philadelphia branch from 1993 to 1995. Ms. Beatrice was married to the late Michael Joseph Beatrice for 47 years. She and Frank Schneider have been together as partners for the past 13 years. She is a proud mother of three children. She also has six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, golfing, playing tennis and camping.
