73 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine EDUCATION S ince 2003, Dr. Paul Chang has served as the director for the Institute for Researchers on Metatheology in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Alongside this role, he has also been the advisor to the director of the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England, and secretary general of the United Cultural Convention in Raleigh, North Carolina, since 2001, as well as a senior fellow at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies in Pasadena, California, since 1997. Earlier in his career, Dr. Chang served as a research scholar at Duke University, and visiting scholar at both Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania. Notably, he was also a guest lecturer at the University of California Los Angeles and the International Conference on the Tower of Babel and Ziggurats. Prior to working in the United States, Dr. Chang held a number of roles in his home country of Korea. The director of the Aram Institute for Ancient Studies beginning in 1981, he also served as the president of the Korean Society for Ancient Near Eastern Studies and a professor at Hansei University, departing from all three roles in 2001. In the mid- 1960s, he also served as a first lieutenant in the Korean Army. Dr. Chang holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Seoul National University, Master of Arts from Duke University and PhD from the University of Münster. Demonstrating versatility in his fields, he has authored a number of books, including “Destiny Determinations in Ancient Mesopotamia: A Criterion for Culture Critique of the Ancient World,” “Promotionsschrift,” “Habilitationschrift” and “Metatheology.” Likewise, he contributed to “The Cardiomorphological Functions of the Sumerian SA for Heart” in the Journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences (now known as Doklady Mathematics). In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Chang was honored as One of the 500 Greatest Geniuses of the 21st Century by the American Biographical Institute in 2007. He was also highlighted in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America in 2018. Married to Yeon Sook Lee since 1982, he has two children, Sang Eun and Sang Young.
