270 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A fter first joining the nursing unit at a local hospital, Dr. Louann Brechill Zinsmeister knew she wanted to improve patients’ lives. Earning a diploma from Lancaster General Hospital, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Millersville University, Master of Science from the University of Delaware and PhD from Widener University. At the inception of her career in 1979, she served as a critical care nurse at the Polyclinic Medical Center before serving Harrisburg Hospital and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. Soon thereafter, she joined Messiah College, moving up the ranks from nursing instructor to full professor between 1994 and 2014. She continues to serve as a professor, as well as the director of the graduate program in nursing. When Dr. Zinsmeister is not tending to patients, she can be found serving as the organist at her church. She is a certified nurse educator, consultant and presenter in the field. As a testament to her success in the industry, she was honored with the Mary Danner Edgar Award and the Florence Nightingale Award. She was also featured in the fourth edition of Who’s Who in American Nursing. PROFESSOR OF NURSING, DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE PROGRAM IN NURSING Messiah College Mechanicsburg, PA B eth B. Sholom has always possessed compassion for the elderly, as she grew up under the guidance of her mother, who worked in a nursing home for 35 years. Inheriting her mother’s dedication to bettering the lives of others, Ms. Sholomwas inspired to help senior citizens receive care at home and remain in their homes. Noting that one must have a passion for the field and treat patients as if they were one’s own parents, she has been the owner of Right at Home since 2003. Ms. Sholom draws upon a bachelor’s degree in special education from Pennsylvania State University and JD from Hofstra University School of Law. A past elder care attorney, she decided to delve into the elder care business full-time and has invested her heart and soul into her work. Alongside her responsibilities, Ms. Sholom has volunteered for the Parkinson Foundation, the Special Olympics of New Jersey and the Free Wheelchair Mission. She continues to fundraise year- round for Alzheimer’s New Jersey and has created her own charity for Alzheimer’s disease. She was recognized among Women of Power by Women’s Online Magazine in 2019.
