284 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine W illiam Louis Hurlock’s love for litigation, law and the courtroom began when he was in the fifth grade. Mr. Hurlock lived near the local courthouse and would sneak into the back of the courtroom and watch the proceedings. From then on, he knew law was in his future. In 1998, Mr. Hurlock earned his JD, with honors, from the American University’s Washington College of Law. Ten years earlier, he received his BS in political science from American University. He also attended the University of London, during which he worked for a member of Parliament in the British House of Commons. Mr. Hurlock started his legal career as a federal prosecutor inWashington, D.C., investigating allegations concerning public corruption. From there, his career in law took off at multiple firms. Most recently, he has been with Mueller Law LLC and Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP. Mr. Hurlock is a trial attorney specializing in litigating False Claims Act (qui tam), product liability, commercial litigation and mass tort cases. He is experienced in all aspects of litigation, arbitration, mediation and appeals. He is also currently the First Ward Councilor for the Township of Montclair, New Jersey. Further, he served as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University’s School of Law. Mr. Hurlock’s experience unequivocally comes with recognition, as he was awarded by the Lawyers of Distinction, New Jersey Monthly Top Attorneys and New Jersey Super Lawyers. A contributor on many works, including scholarly articles, newsletters, and journals, he credits his parents for instilling in him his commitment to public service, his civic- minded nature and hardworking personality. Additionally, Mr. Hurlock holds multiple civic positions, including board of trustees member for the Family Service League/Sexual Assault and Violence Education, board of directors member for the American Red Cross of New Jersey, editorial board member for Sobel & Co. Fraud and Forensic Practice, and he is a part of the Montclair Board of School Estimate.
