Messineo, Esq., is a pronounced figure in the world of law. An attorney with Messineo & Messineo since 1997, a firm his family founded in 1927, he has also served as an adjunct guest professor at Fordham Law School. In his position, he specializes in personal injury, litigation and tort, civil litigation and trial, and criminal law. Admitted to practice law by the New Jersey State Bar Association and before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in 1994, he is a founding member of the Lake George Preservation Committee. Sitting on the board of directors of the Lake George Club Historic Foundation, he has also served as president of the Boy’s Lacrosse Booster Club and vice president of the boys’ football scholarship committee at Ridgewood High School. Mr. Messineo recalls one of the highlights of his career to be when he aided a family in obtaining money from a hospital in order to provide much needed assistance to a recently born child with Down syndrome. Upon the birth of the child, the hospital did not offer the mother an ASP test, which determines whether the baby has Trisomy 21 or Trisomy 23. Instead, the hospital reassured the mother that her baby was healthy. With his help, Mr. Messineo was able to win the wrongful birth case against the hospital, thus giving the family the peace of mind they needed. As a testament to his success, Mr. Messineo was named a Bergen County Top Lawyer from 2014 to 2016, a Top Lawyer in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut from 2010 to 2017, and among the Best Lawyers in New Jersey from 2010 to 2017. Likewise, he was recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2009 to 2017 and among New York and New Jersey Best Lawyers from 2007 to 2017.
