320 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Christopher T. De Rosa is a nationally recognized biomedical researcher who served the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for 16 years. Commencing his tenure at the CDC as deputy associate administrator of science and director of the Division of Toxicology in 1991, he soon served as director of the Division of Toxicology and Environmental Medicine from2005 until his retirement in 2007. Prior to these appointments, Dr. De Rosa worked for the University of Maine, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the University of Virginia, where he started his career in 1976 as an instructor and assistant professor of biology. A consultant in the field for such organizations as the World Health Organization, the PanAmericanHealthOrganization, NATO, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy and NASA, Dr. De Rosa also served on the Steering Committee on Risk Assessment between 1992 and 2008. A reviewer of a number of biological and medical journals, including Environmental Health Perspectives, Toxicology Letters, the Journal of Ambulatory Pediatrics and the Quarterly Review of Biology, he has also contributed his time as president and chief executive officer of Seven Lazy D. Acres, Inc. Likewise, he has been the founder and chief executive officer of the Alliance of Public Health and Associates, Inc., since 2009. Delving intohis professiondue tohis desire topromote environmental health science and leverage science in public health, Dr. De Rosa was instrumental in bringing to light the victims who were housed in formaldehyde-contaminated trailers after Hurricane Katrina. He was called to testify before Congress and the House Committee on Science and Technology regarding the victims’ treatment, which garnered commendations from Congress for service to Americans in their time of greatest need. Further, Dr. De Rosa received the Unsung Hero Award from theMorehouse School of Medicine andwas afforded the opportunity to address global delegates at the United Nations to phase out the use of organic chemicals. Dr. De Rosa received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the AEHS Foundation, Hammer Award fromVice President Al Gore and four Bronze Medals from the EPA. CHRISTOPHER T.
