324 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine Raymond Fellers, one of the founders of the field of food technology in the early 1930s. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in food technology from the University of Massachusetts, Master of Science in food processing from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and PhD in food sciences from Michigan State University, Dr. Fellers formerly served as a meteorological observer in the U.S. Army at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. As a testament to his success, Dr. Fellers received the Blazing Star Award from Green Horizon Land Trust in 2018 and was highlighted in the 55th edition of Who’s Who in America in 2000. Married to his wife Donna Mavis since 1962, Dr. Fellers is the proud father of two daughters, Rebecca and Annette. He also has four grandsons. A founding member of Phi Tau Sigma and member of Sigma Xi, he enjoys teaching ornithology, practicing photography, dancing and leading nature field trips in his spare time. D r. Paul Joseph Fellers is a renowned research scientist in the food technology industry who contributed 31 years of experience to his field. Employed with the Florida Department of Citrus, he began with the department in 1964 and stayed until his retirement in 1995. In his position, he dealt with myriad problems associated with citrus and citrus products, drawing upon a background in the composition of Virginia processing apples and quality problems related to fresh-packed pickles. Enjoying his work with others, he cites a major accomplishment to be leading a group of fellow scientist to develop nutritional labels for all commercial citrus products. A noted expert in the field of food science, he authored over 100 publications and contributed articles to the “Encyclopedia of Food Science.” Outside of his primary career responsibilities, Dr. Fellers is active in the conservationmovement and preservation of birds, animals and flora, having been a past president and interim vice president of the Lake Region Audubon Society. He was an organizer and compiler for 38 Christmas bird counts and has completed 79 breeding bird surveys.
