361 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine J ason Alvert Lewis Jr. enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964, where he served as a telephone installer. After his departure from the military in 1966, he went on to serve in the telephone communications industry as a field engineer at Lucent Technologies. After fulfilling the role for numerous years, he was employed by Pacific Bell in San Francisco as a field engineer and telephone technician from 1983 to 1984. Subsequent to this appointment, he was hired by AT&T in San Francisco, where he served as a systems technician for 15 years until his retirement in 1999. A patentee in the field of communications, Mr. Lewis enjoyed the opportunities he had to attend classes in the phone company and subsequently getting promotions as a result of his newfound knowledge. He also learned how to work with industry giants in the field of communications technology, such as IBM and other prominent organizations and businesses. However, he cites his first job at the age of 19 to be a particular career highlight. Assigned as a janitor in the surgery department of a local hospital, hewas given the opportunity to become part of the surgical team for one surgery. The experience thrilled him. To remain abreast of industry developments, Mr. Lewis maintains affiliation with the U.S. Naval Institute, the International Platform Association, theAstronomical Societyof thePacific and thePlanetary Society. Likewise, he is a member of the Cousteau Society and the San Francisco Zoological Society. A former deputy governor of the American Biographical Institute ResearchAssociation, Mr. Lewiswas inducted into the International Who’s Who of Intellectuals. As a testament to his success, Mr. Lewis received a Customer Achievement Award from Lucent Technologies early on in his career. Likewise, at the conclusion of his army service, he earned a Certificate of Appreciation in 1996. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been listed in numerous Who’s Who publications.
