Diagnosed with thyroid cancer, his sister underwent significant treatment to combat the disease. She was prescribed 12 different medications that led to further complications, including a heart attack. Pastor Bell’s family turned to the power of God to lead his sister toward recovery, and he prayed until his sister recovered. After a few weeks, his sister’s doctor advised her that she did not need to take the medication anymore because her body was healing, and now she is living strongly and independently, free from the constraints of cancer. Pastor Bell credits his family’s faith in God for her ultimate recovery. Since 2006, Pastor Bell has been a pastor at the Greater St. John Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas, where he praises God with his congregation. Over the course of his tenure at the rural church, he has watched as the church has grown from three worshippers to over 200 worshippers on a regular Sunday morning. Alongside his primary responsibilities, he enjoys giving back to his community as a volunteer for children’s causes, including community service with the Boys and Girls Club. Notably, he has helped 30 teenagers attend college through his charitable donations and contributions to their wellbeing. A member of the Gregg Baptist Association and the Baptist General Convertion of Texas, Pastor Bell intends to remain in the ministry in the near future. As a testament to his dedication to the church, the Greater St. John Baptist Church was named among the Top 10 Most Giving Churches for two consecutive years.
