162 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D rawing upon a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Edward Dabrowski is a noted engineer who has been serving as the technical director of the engineering development group at NBCUniversal Media LLC in Chicago since 1976. During his tenure with the entertainment giant, he served as engineer-in-charge of “The Jenny Jones Show” in 1995, having also been a technical director and engineer of WMAQ-TV in Chicago between 1976 and 1996. Throughout his career, Mr. Dabrowski has applied his expertise to such productions as “Chicago Sisslin,” “Fast Break to Glory: The DuSable Panthers” and “The Sixth Street Kids.” He has maintained affiliation with the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians, the broadcasting and cable television workers sector of the Communications Workers of America and the American Radio Relay League, where he is a lifetime member. In addition, he is a member of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Mr. Dabrowski has been the recipient of several Emmy Awards in 1999, 2000 and 2003. In 2002, he received the Millennium Special Coverage Award and Technology Award for the Chicago Marathon. Earlier in his career, he was nominated for an Emmy Award by the Chicago chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1998. A native of Chicago, Mr. Dabrowski currently lives in Stickney, Illinois. Becoming involved in his profession due to his early interest in the mechanics behind radio, he was greatly mentored by his colleagues at NBC, where he started his career as an intern at the age of 18. In his spare time, he enjoys amateur radio and photography. Impressively, he was selected for inclusion in the fourth edition of Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, the first through third editions of Who’s Who in Entertainment, the 22 nd through 25 th editions of Who’s Who in the Midwest, and several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World.
