166 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Charles A. Greenhall is a distinguished mathematician and former educator who has amassed over 50 years in his profession. After earning a doctorate degree in 1966, he began serving as an assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1968, holding the role for five years. From there, he became a senior member of the technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, in 1977, a position he still holds today. In his role, he is responsible for designing and programming measurement functions. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is a national research facility that carries out robotic space and Earth science missions. Federally funded by NASA through the California Institute of Technology, it continues its world-leading innovation, implementing programs in planetary exploration and technology developments. One of Dr. Greenhall’s more recent projects included the simulation of power- law processes. The recipient of a Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College in Claremont, California, and PhD from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California, Dr. Greenhall has contributed myriad articles to esteemed scientific journals. He is notably a lifetime senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and member of the Mathematical Association of America. Among his notable achievements, he is most renowned for his patent for using a time interval counter tomeasure frequency stability, as well as his algorithms for Kalman filter composite clocks and his designs of multi-channel dual-mixer stability analyzers. Highlighted in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the West, Dr. Greenhall is a native of New York City and was born to parents A. Frank Greenhall and Miriam Housman on May 5, 1939. He enjoys running in his spare time. CHARLES A.
