170 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine C ertified in biomedical engineering by the University of California Irvine since 1984, Robert Preston Kinsman is a noted biomedical plastics engineer who has accrued more than 40 years in the field. The president of Kinsman & Associates in Billerica, Massachusetts, since 2001, he formerly led the company in Irvine, California, between 1993 and 2001. During this time, he also served in numerous executive engineering roles for such companies as Cardiovascular Dynamics, Inc., HemoDynamics, Inc., Anchor Medical Technology, Inc., and Triage Medical. Likewise, he has been an expert and auditor for Medical Device Certification GmbH in Germany since 1995. Mr. Kinsman holds a Bachelor of Science in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. A former U.S. Air Force captain, combat crew commander, intercontinental ballistic missile launch officer and missile operations officer, he has since become a life member of Disabled American Veterans, for whom he has served as a treasurer, commander, vice commander, service officer and executive committee member. Notably, Mr. Kinsman has contributed his time to many civic endeavors over the years. He has been the chairman and leader of various fundraising committees, helping to raise over $2.5 million for charity since 1983. He is an organizing committee member of Wreaths Across America, an organization honoring deceased U.S. military veterans, and the founder of Billerica Lions Charities, Inc., a philanthropic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. He has also served as co-chair and lead sponsor for the Habitat for Humanity “Billerica Habitat Home” construction for underprivileged families. An emeritus member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, Mr. Kinsman is also a senior member of the American Society for Quality and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, as well as a life member of Mensa International. He has received recognition from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command, the American Heart Association, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Billerica Historical Society and Lions Club International Foundation.
