In his many years of working in engineering, Mr. McEwin believes the most rewarding aspect about his profession is seeing people adapt to the programs, putting the programs to use and seeing how it affects the community. He finds that his work brings people together, and he enjoys seeing people have happier and healthier relationships. Mr. McEwin was awarded by the National Green Building Standard for his work. Mr. McEwin is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers, the United States Green Building Council and the National Eagle Scout Association. He is also a volunteer at the Church of the Cross and the Covenant Christian School. Additionally, Mr. McEwin is a frequent blood donor and enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Valerie, and two children, Nathan and Elliot. W hen Aaron McEwin chose engineering as his career path, he did not expect to be able to communicate with so many other engineers worldwide. He calls engineering an international language and a unique ability he has been given through his work. Mr. McEwin says he owes this ability to his parents, who helped support and motivate to be better than just the “average student” he described himself as. Mr. McEwin graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, and that same year, he began working at Jordan & Skala Engineers in Dallas. At Jordan & Skala Engineers, Mr. McEwin began working in engineering analysis and commissioning. He then went on to become a mechanical engineer, senior mechanical engineer and director of sustainability. Prior to his time at Jordan & Skala Engineers, Mr. McEwin worked in warehouse counter sales at Barsco Incorporated in Dallas from 1999 to 2004 and was a lead project designer at Green AARON MCEWIN DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY Jordan & Skala Engineers Dallas, TX ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING
