193 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine C ommencing his tenure with Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1968, Dr. T. Kimball Brooker first served as an associate in corporate finance for five years before moving on to vice president from 1973 to 1975. From there, he was the managing director and head of the Chicago office until his departure from the prominent company in 1988. First interested in banking, Dr. Brooker then delved into the oil industry, joining his late wife’s family business, Barbara Oil Company, in 1989. He has since been serving as president to the current day. Dr. Brooker holds a Bachelor of Arts in French literature from Yale University, Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, and Master of Arts and PhD in art history from the University of Chicago. A scholar of Renaissance libraries, he has maintained affiliation with several libraries throughout the United States, Spain and France. A 16th-century book collector in his spare time, he has also contributed to a number of publications beginning in 1997, including writing several books and articles for art history publications. He is a past president of the Association International de Bibliophilie and past president of the science committee of Bibliotheca Wittockiana. Likewise, he was a member of the president’s council of the Yale University Library, governor of the John Carter Brown Library and Newberry Library, and visiting committee member of the University of Chicago Library. Charged with organizing the first domestic branch office for Morgan Stanley in Chicago in 1978, Dr. Brooker also worked on financing the Alaskan pipelines and Mexican pipelines. Likewise, during his tenure with the company in Chicago, he was responsible for 12 Midwest states, expanding the practice from 28 people to 300 people. As a testament to his success and longevity in the industry, Dr. Brooker received the Sir Thomas More Medal from the University of San Francisco in 1992 and the Adrian Van Sinderen Prize from Yale University in 1962. Impressively, he was highlighted in several Who’s Who publications, including Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World. T.
