227 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine J eanne Holland Erickson grew up with fond memories of spending time with her parents at the pharmacy where they worked. From an early age, she always felt connected to the trade of pharmacy and chose to pursue the trade for her career. Ms. Erickson received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 1946, and the next year, she became a registered pharmacist in Minnesota. In her senior year of college, she received the Kappa Epsilon Award. From there, Ms. Erickson has worked at multiple pharmacies, including Holland Pharmacy in Warroad, Minnesota, Olson Brothers Pharmacy and Rembrandt Pharmacy, both in Edina, Minnesota. Notably, she served as a pharmacist-in-charge of five nursing homes in the Twin Cities area, as well as mentored several students at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. In 1975, Ms. Erickson bought her father’s pharmacy, then named Heritage Pharmacy, where she was also instrumental in the edification of Warroad’s first care center and became the first chair of the board. Ms. Erickson was a delegate of the Minnesota Pharmacists Association from 1972 to 1974, and she is a member of the American Pharmacists Association and the Century Mortar Club. She served as the Eric County chairman for the cancer crusade during her time spent in New York, as well as superintendent of Release Time Education and a Girl Scout leader for 27 years. A passionate philanthropic supporter of several organizations, her civic involvements have also included religious education at her local parish, where she taught Barbara Peterson, a recognized humanitarian and former Miss America. Ms. Erickson has been an active member of the Eastern Star and Warroad Chamber of Commerce. When she is not working, Ms. Erickson enjoys spending time with her three children: Martin, Marilyn and Kirk, as well as her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In 1972, the Rembrandt Corporation inducted Ms. Erickson into the “Reverence for Life” Hall of Fame, and in 2004, the Warroad Alumni Association recognized her as an outstanding alumnus for her contributions to the Warroad community.
