271 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Anna Maria Badini was raised in Italy to the age of 15, where she became enthralled by art. Painting from a young age, she first began art as a means of representing her Italian heritage, then her discoveries and experiences after immigrating to America. During a hiatus from painting, she decided to pursue psychology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut in 1980. From there, she received a Master of Social Work from Hunter College in 1984 and began serving as a clinical social worker for Green Chimneys Residential Children’s Services for the following two years. She notes that psychology and art are a yin and yang, feeding and enriching one another in an electrifying process that leads to enlightened thought. Due to her unique approach to counseling, she has been highly acclaimed by colleagues and patients alike, and her guidance has helped enhance the lives of others. After her many years in psychology, Dr. Badini has been beckoned by the call of art, and now she devotes herself fully to expressing herself through painting. She has studied under prominent artists and at the Silvermine Arts Center. She does both representational and abstract oil paintings on canvas, anodized aluminum, tarnished metal and wood, seeking to express her search for light and convey a sense of intrigue and spirituality.
