Named to Super Lawyers and recognized by Thomson Reuters’ “Top Rated Attorneys,” he made Mohave County history in 2018 by obtaining the largest jury verdict at $8 million, including $1.77 million in punitive damages. Practicing in all Arizona state and federal courts, Mr. Wilenchik is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth and 10th Circuits, the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Tax Court. He dedicates his time and expertise to various charity and pro bono causes, including handling a unique case on behalf of a child victim that reached the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Wilenchik also authored a bill to protect child victims in 2016, which was introduced to the U.S. Senate by Sen. Jeff Flake and Sen. Dianne Feinstein as co-sponsors. In his spare time, he has served as a volunteer attorney for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the Rutherford Institute and the Goldwater Institute, as well as a regular volunteer for the Wills for Heroes Program. Additionally, he has been a liaison and special advisor to the Maricopa County Community Legal Services Volunteer Lawyers Program. He also sits on the City of Phoenix Historic Preservation and Heritage Commission, which is responsible for naming many of the City’s sites. Mr. Wilenchik is also known for being the criminal attorney for Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio. In 2017, the White House contacted Mr. Wilenchik regarding President Donald Trump’s first issued pardon to Mr. Arpaio, and he received the official copy of the pardon on Mr. Arpaio’s behalf.
