313 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine G loria D’Angelo Ingrao hails from a lineage of fashion designers. Her grandfather won a competition in Paris for a men’s coat he designed in the late 1800s. Later on, Ms. Ingrao’s father, Nicholas D’Angelo, founded D’Angelo’s in the early 1900s. Continuing the legacy of her family tradition, Ms. Ingrao has maintained the family trade by producing clothing for established designers. Since 1981, she has been the vice president, secretary and treasurer of Ingrao, Inc. Prior to working autonomously, Ms. Ingrao served D’Angelo Suits and Coats, D’Angelo Originals Ltd., and D’Angelo Couture, Inc., in myriad roles, including as president and administrator. Departing from her family business in 2014 to focus exclusively on her own ventures, she has truly enjoyed the challenges associated with the fashion industry. At the inception of her career in 1950, she served as an accountant for Smith, Ranscht, Mitchell & Croake. She later became a substitute teacher for Pelham Schools for seven years. Drawing upon a Bachelor of Science in commerce from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and Master of Education from New York University, Ms. Ingrao has been featured in “Get It Made New York” through AFINGO in 2011 and “Unsung Fashion Heroes” through renowned fashion designer Prabal Gurung in 2010. In her spare time, she volunteered for the Mother Societies of Iona Prep Holy Child School and Good Counsel Academy for 16 years and has been a representative of St. Catharine’s Church in Lower Westchester, New York. Likewise, she has volunteered for the March of Dimes Annual Fundraiser. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the fashion industry and her civic endeavors, Ms. Ingrao was featured in the 15th edition of Who’s Who of American Women in 1986. However, she cites her marriage to the late Joseph A. Ingrao to be the highlight of her life. She remains devoted to his memory, and his legacy lives on through the lives of her three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
