Chambers is a mystery novelist and short story writer whose work has been professionally published since the 1970s. Upon the publication of his first short story “1972,” he has since authored myriad novels and contributed short stories and poetry to anthologies and magazines. A frequent writer for Sherlock Holmes Mystery Magazine, with whom he published “The Killing of General Patton” and “Rationalist Femme: Punitive Justice” in 2014, Mr. Chambers ismost renowned for his novel “Death Toll,” published in 1976. “Death Toll” revolves around a New York lieutenant who finds himself embroiled in an anonymous killing spree by amurderer whose thirst for death can only be quenched by a hefty ransom called the “death toll.” Among his notable books, Mr. Chambers is also the author of “Another Night to Remember” in the “Blood on Their Hands” anthology, “Tricks and Treats: An Anthology of Mystery Stories by the Mystery Writers of America,” “The Tormentress” and “The Redemption Factor.” His books and short stories can be found on ThriftBooks and Amazon. Formerly involved with the New York chapter of the Mystery Writers of America, Mr. Chambers previously served as chapter president from 1995 to 1997 and MWA executive vice president from 2000 to 2002. He also maintains affiliation with the International Association of CrimeWriters and the Private EyeWriters of America. As a testament to his success in the field, Mr. Chambers was nominated for the Brooke Russell Astor Award in 2002. Civically involved as well, he was the recipient of a merit award from the United Way of Tri-County in 1980 and a Leadership Award from the Communication Workers of America in 1986.
