33 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT D rawing upon an early interest in radio and television production, Cherie MacQueen is a noteworthy communications specialist who served the Armed Forced Radio and TV (now known as the American Forces Network) for the majority of her career. Hired by the network in 1980 as a radio traffic specialist, a position she held for four years, she has subsequently served as a radio production specialist, supervisor broadcast support specialist, broadcast support manager, internal information manager, and news and sports specialist, retiring from the latter role in 1999. Ms. MacQueen is a recipient of an Associate of Arts in liberal arts from Los Angeles Valley College and Bachelor of Science in liberal studies from Excelsior College. Certified in interior design through the University of California Riverside, she has also dabbled in crafting and design. The past owner of the Keilani Company from 2003 to 2007, she was also the owner of Ladysmythe Handcrafts. Formerly, Ms. MacQueen was enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1973, serving as a personnel specialist, administrative specialist and broadcast journalist until 1980. Ms. MacQueenmaintains affiliationwithWomen inMilitary Service for America and is a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. She is a past vice president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Armed Forces Broadcasters Association, past member of the Association of the U.S. Army and past alliedmember of the Pasadena chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Among the highlights of her career, Ms. MacQueen is proudest of her Army assignment in Vicenza, Italy, where she completed radio and television broadcasting work. Attributing her profound success to her exceptional education and plethora of professional experience, she has also earned an Army Commendation Medal, National Defense ServiceMedal and two Good Conduct Medals from the Army.
