He concluded his career in 2007 after spending 12 years as the chief executive officer of IPA International, Inc., in Vienna, Virginia. Over the course of his career, Dr. Schneider has contributed articles to professional journals and chapters to books. He hasmaintained professional affiliation with the American Political Science Association, the American Restitution Association and the Society of Professional Journalists. Likewise, he was inducted into numerous honor societies, such as Phi Sigma Alpha, Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa. In light of his outstanding achievements in the field, he was recognized with the Julia Lathrop Award from the American Criminal Justice Association in 1985. Impressively, he was also selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Politics, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World. I nitially interested in the intricacies of journalism, Dr. Peter R. Schneider worked for four years as a news editor and writer for such publications as the Northern Virginia Sun, the Associated Press and Baltimore New-American. Discovering he wanted to write about politics, he shifted his focus to political science and received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Oklahoma State University in 1966 and 1968, respectively. From there, he pursued a PhD from Indiana University in 1974 and commenced his career as an assistant professor at the University of Oregon in Eugene for two years. A past president of the Institute of Policy Analysis in Eugene, Oregon, from 1976 to 1983 and again in McLean, Virginia, from 1992 to 1995, Dr. Schneider also served the American Justice Institute in Sacramento, California, as vice president, the Center for Assessment of the Juvenile Justice Center in Sacramento as director, and National Partnership for Women & Families in Washington as vice president. From 1984 to 1992, he was a senior research scientist with the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Bethesda, Maryland, having also spent this time PETER R.
