298 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine F ood has always been an important part of Christopher R. Sokol’s life, and growing up, his family never ate processed food. This was the golden rule in his household; he and his family were able to eat whatever they wanted as long as it was made fresh in the house. In the present day, Mr. Sokol is the president and general manager of Sokol’s Greek Deli & Café in Houston, Texas. Since 2001, Mr. Sokol has put his heart and soul into Sokol’s Greek Deli and Café. Located in the heart of Clear Lake in Houston, the restaurant serves as the spot to snag some of the most authentic Greek cuisine. All of the food is made from scratch, and with a recent switch in management to offer younger and more vibrant employees, Sokol’s Greek Deli & Café is a favorite among the Clear Lake locals. Offering classic Greek fare, for appetizers, customers of Sokol’s Greek Deli & Café can indulge in spanakopita, tzatziki, babaganoush, scordalia, grilled octopus and soups. For main courses, the restaurant offers a roasted leg of lamb, gyros, souvlaki, salads, moussaka, keftedes and pasticcio. And lastly for desserts, some of their delicious plates include baklava, rice pudding and galaktoboureko. To assist him in his current and future business endeavors, Mr. Sokol received a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston in 2015. He attributes his success to his father, who owns his own oil company, and to his own hard work and dedication in reaching his goals. In five years’ time, Mr. Sokol hopes to open more restaurants. Mr. Sokol is a member of the National Rifle Association, TNRA and the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce. He works and lives by the motto, “An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep.” CHRISTOPHER R.
