Leyra recalls being interested in pursuing construction from a very young age. After graduating from Brookdale Community College in Middletown, New Jersey, in 1994, Mr. Leyra spearheaded Excel Construction the same year. Today, the core values of the company include integrity, quality, customer service, innovation and team work, as well as safety education and training. A built with true collaborative spirit, Excel Construction serves clientele in Red Bank, Middleton and Fair View, New Jersey, as well as throughout the Garden State. Excel Construction offers services in pre- construction consulting, cold formed structural metal framing, building insulation, framing and drywall interior systems, finish carpentry and architectural millwork, doors, frames and hardware, bathroom accessories, acoustical ceiling and wall systems, and retail fixture, graphics and display installations. Clients are referred to them through the union across the state of New Jersey. Mr. Leyra has grown Excel Construction to offer various services for clients from the commercial, industrial, instructional and retail industries. Within the retail world, they have worked on projects for Adidas, Ann Taylor, Arhaus Furniture, Bath and Body Works, Brio Tuscan Grill, Champ Sports, Disney Store, Foot Locker, Garage, Levi’s, LL Bean, Six:02 and Victoria’s Secret. Outside of retail, Excel Construction has also worked on projects for the Christian Brothers Academy and the New Jersey National Medical Guard Facility. Mr. Leyra attributes his success to hard work, dedication and being an honest businessman. In five years’ time, Mr. Leyra plans to continue doing the same work he is currently doing, but in a larger and more profitable capacity. He especially hopes to achieve this goal as the company recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in business. In addition to his role with Excel Construction, Mr. Leyra is a frequent volunteer with Youth USA Hockey. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Kristine and three children.
