162 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine R obert Eugene Meyer has always been a logical thinker and has a gift for bringing facts together into a congruent manner. He found that engineering best represented his area of interests, and he got involved in defense and military manufacturing, as well as the health industry, during 50-plus year long career. Mr. Meyer received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1954 and is now a registered professional engineer. The owner of R.E. Meyer & Associates in Edina, Minnesota, since 1995, he is dedicated to providing clients with top- quality care and service. Prior to opening his company, Mr. Meyer served as the vice president and director of quality reassurance and regulatory affairs at Cascade Medical Inc., Garid Inc., and Dahlberg Inc. between 1982 and 1995. In his early career years, Mr. Meyer also worked at Maico Inc. as a manager of quality assurance, Control Data Corp. as a program manager and manager of quality assurance government systems, and Univac as a configuration manager and program manager of defense systems. Additionally, Mr. Meyer was a consultant at Bayer & MacElrath in 1975 and served with the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1949. A practicing Christian, Mr. Meyer decided to apply the principles from his work to his church. From 1973 to 1976, he served as president of the Institute for Church Management and was a presenter in the field. Mr. Meyer is also the author of “One Mortal Chance: Don’t Blow It,” publication forthcoming, and has contributed articles to professional publications. Mr. Meyer is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society for Quality. Since 1993, he has been a member of the quality advanced board for St. Cloud State University and a senior examiner with the Minnesota Council for Quality. Mr. Meyer credits his mentor Gayle MacRath for pushing him and encouraging his skills throughout his career. In his free time, Mr. Meyer enjoys jogging, woodcarving, painting, golfing and traveling.
