Kumar received an MS in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University in 1972 and is a licensed professional engineer in Washington State, Oregon, California and Nevada. After accruing decades of experience, he has been the owner of KK Engg LLC in Los Angeles, California, since 2016. KK Eng offers consulting engineering services in HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinklers with T24 and model energy calculations, Calgreen and LEED compliance, process piping, electrical power and lighting for hotels, restaurants, governmental and residential buildings, shopping centers and health care facilities. Prior to spearheading his business, Mr. Kumar was an engineering consultant at Intel and the University of New Mexico. Mr. Kumar received aDistinguished Service Recognition inMechanical Engineering from the U.S. Congress and California State Legislature in 1997. He calls the highlight of his career to be his involvement on a geothermal project design for a mansion on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts in 2008. Mr. Kumar is a life member and member of the Holley Society of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association. He is the president of Harris Thermal Transfer Products, a manufacturer of custom metal products, and executive vice president of the Anctil Sheet Metal Company. Previously, he was the president, executive vice president and financial vice president of Northwest Copperworks, Inc. He began his career as senior audit staff member at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. Prior to his budding career, he received a BA from St. Martin’s University in 1962 and an MBA from Washington State University in 1964. Mr. Fuchs is a member of the American Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Eagles Club and the Multnomah Athletic Club. He also has sat on the board of directors for the Anctil Sheet Metal Company, Systems Piping, Inc., Northwest Medical Equipment Distributors and Northwest Copperworks. The advice he offers to the next generation of manufacturing professionals is to do what you love so it is not just work, but fun.
