17 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine H aving always thrived in the artistic realm, Jimmy Kun Mui became a registered architect in New York State in 1992 and has had a prominent 36-plus year long career in New York. Mr. Mui received a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University at Buffalo in 1982 and completed postgraduate coursework between 1982 and 1984. Mr. Mui has been a principal architect at his firm J.K. Mui Design since 1998 and served as a senior project manager at IVI Internationa1, Inc., between 2004 and 2007. Besides these roles, Mr. Mui also served Mui Enterprises International as president from 1994 to 2000 and Mui Enterprises, Inc., from 2001 to 2005. During this time, Mr. Mui was a member of CCM & Associates and a construction manager at Fedayeen Construction Company LLC. He commenced his architectural career while serving as an architecture aide for the Department of Health of the City of New York in 1978 and interning for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in 1983. A large portion of Mr. Mui’s architectural career was spent with the City of New York, working on public schools and governmental buildings. He was an associate project manager of the Public Schools of the City of New York from 1991 to 1998 and an assistant architect for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and New York City Department of Education between 1985 and 1991. Between 1984 and 1985, Mr. Mui served as a drafter and in-house architect for the Bradley Corporate Park at Blauvelt, New York. At the Moy Shee Family Association of New York City, Mr. Mui served as president from 2001 to 2002 and again from 2005 to 2006, adviser from 2003 to 2004, secretary from 1999 to 2000 and on the board of directors from 2002 to 2006. A distinguished architect in his field, he was named Top Architect of the Year and earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association of Top Professionals in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
