176 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine R eflecting on her difficult childhood, Kimberly Hurst has overcome obstacles and stands today as the co-owner of her own company, J&J Fencing Pros, LLC since 2015. Mrs. Hurst received an AA in business, business administration and management, as well as two BS degrees: the first in psychology from California State University, Northridge and the second in business marketing from Southern Methodist University. Additionally, in 2004, Mrs. Hurst received 3 Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP and CCSP) from Southern Methodist University. Mrs. Hurst and her husband James chose to open their own fencing company because James felt they would be able to provide better service to customers compared to how his previous fencing job operated. Since that time, their business has been named as the Best of Denton, Best of Denton County and in the Business Hall of Fame for two consecutive years for Fence Contractors awarded by the Denton Award Program. Their business motto is “We like to under-promise and over-deliver.” Prior to spearheading her business, Mrs. Hurst worked in the realm of online marketing for over a decade. She served Hotels.com, Expedia, Traveljunction.com, NowLegal.com, Advantix Interactive and Idearc Media (formerly Verizon Information Services) in increasing responsible roles, culminating in her last role as vice president of online marketing for Instinct Marketing in Frisco, Texas. Mrs. Hurst has been ranked Fourth with Google for her skills and success in online marketing. Before working with these companies, Mrs. Hurst was the director of accounting at Enviro~Mold IAQ Services, Inc., and before that, a customer service lead for fulfillment solutions of Texas Limited. In five years’ time, Mrs. Hurst plans to grow her company but also hopes to begin other ventures due to her entrepreneurial mindset. With her skills and love for online marketing, she plans to begin her own business in that area as well. She knows this dream is possible as she always “shoots for the stars,” and refuses to let obstacles stand in her way. She wants aspiring entrepreneurs to know that if you are unhappy with your current position, it is always possible to reinvent yourself and try something new.
