178 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A college intern for Stephen Rivers & Associates, Jonathan Reed was offered a full-time position with the company after receiving his BA in economics from Swarthmore College in 1999. It was his first exposure to brand communication and event production, and he felt connected to the field and has continued working with high end fashion brands since that initial internship. Five years later, he spearheaded his own firm, SPEC Entertainment CS Global, which has developed a formidable roster of high-end and name brand clients. Some of the many highlights of Mr. Reed’s career through CS Global include the global “We Are” brand campaign for The Estée Lauder Companies, the biannual Hugo Boss Prize at the Guggenheim Museum, global launches for the TOM FORD brand and the world’s largest La Mer jar. CS Global has held many celebrations for distinguished brands such as Brooks Brothers, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, Tiffany & Co., Amazon Fashion and MDNA. They have also hosted the annual DVF Awards and produced transformative digital content for numerous clients, including HBO. In addition to his duties as chief executive officer of CS Global, Mr. Reed has also been the CEO and co-founder of Jeffrey Dodd since 2014. Previously, Mr. Reed was a production director for Kevin Krier & Associates from 1999 to 2004 and was managing director of Stephen River & Associates from 1996 to 1999. A contributor to some of the largest fashion shows in New York City history, Mr. Reed attributes his success to dedication and hard work. He additionally credits having a great business acumen as well as an understanding of the creative side of the business. In five years’ time, Mr. Reed plans to see an expansion in the offered digital services of CS Global, which is their fastest growing division. He also wishes to continue an alignment between online and offline strategies with their clients. The advice Mr. Reed can offer the next generation is to fully love the job, as it is a difficult proposition for entrepreneurship when dealing with something to which you do not feel connected.
