230 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine contributor to “Cognitive Rehabilitation: Models for Intervention in Occupational Therapy.” In light of her contributions to occupational therapy and teaching, Dr. Katz was a recipient of the Excellence in Lectureship Award from the Israeli Society of Occupational Therapy in 1997. In 1995, she was a recipient of the Academy Research Award from the American Occupational Therapy Association. Despite her many accomplishments and accolades, Dr. Katz calls the highlight of her career her ability to receive an education in the U.S., which had prepared her for many career opportunities in her home country of Israel. Dr. Katz is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Israeli Society of Occupational Therapy, where she served as chair from 1991 to 1997. Dr. Katz would advise others aspiring to work in her profession to choose an area they enjoy and stick with it. D r. Noomi Katz became involved in occupational therapy many years ago by chance. She had received her bachelor’s degree in her native Tel Aviv, Israel, and then had the opportunity to further her studies in the United States, which gave her a great deal of freedom in her desire to work in research. In the U.S., Dr. Katz obtained an MA in occupational therapy, as well as a PhD in health education from the University of Southern California. Since 1963, she has been a certified licensed occupational therapist in Israel. Dr. Katz has been chair of the research center at Ono Academic College in Kiryat Ono, Israel, since 2007 and has been head of research authority since 2017. Prior to these roles, Dr. Katz was chair of graduate programs at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Hadassah School of Occupational Therapy from 1990 to 2002 and was a professor in 2002. Dr. Katz has been involved in numerous creative works. Between 1988 and 2018, she was the editor of “Cognition, Occupation, and Participation Across the Lifespan: Neuroscience, Neurorehabilitation, andModels of Intervention,” “Cognition & Occupation Across the Life Span: Models for Intervention in Occupational Therapy” and “Occupational Therapy Mental Health CL.” Additionally, Dr. Katz was a NOOMI KATZ, PHD, OTR MEDICAL EDUCATOR, RESEARCHER Ono Academic College Tel Aviv, Israel HEALTH AND WELLNESS
