25 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine M uch of Gilles Clement’s artistic abilities and desires stem from the early influences of his parents, who were internationally known French painters. They taught Mr. Clement to look at theworld froma creative eye, and later in his life, Mr. Clement used that advice to kick start his career in the music business as a producer and promoter between 1988 and 2003. It was not until college that Mr. Clement discovered his calling for interior design. Mr. Clement attended Fairfield University in Connecticut and received a BA in interior design in 2003. One year later, he began working in the design field professionally in New York City. Mr. Clement remained in New York for two years before working with a retailer in Connecticut. In 2008, he left to start his upscale interior design firm, Gilles Clement Designs. The firmcaters to local, national and international clientele, offering a distinctively cosmopolitan, European urban chic, curated collection that transcends current creative innovations, and yet is rooted in timeless and iconic design elements. With the help of his wife Aida Clement, Mr. Clement has garnered a reputation that promises to exceed expectations at every turn. Currently, the duo are the owners of two art galleries, two interior design showrooms and they plan to open a third interior design showroom in Coral Gables, Florida. For his unique work, Mr. Clement was the recipient of the Connecticut Cottages and Gardens Innovation Design Award in 2007. Mr. Clement attributes his success to his talent and work ethic. He is devoted to his work, as he works seven days a week and rarely vacations. In five years’ time, Mr. Clement plans to release a book and continue to grow and establish his business. He is currently working on a furniture line that he plans to release in 2020. Outside of hiswork in design, Mr. Clement is involved in a philanthropic organization that fights against poverty.
