252 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D r. Malcolm Edward Williamson had an interest in medicine from a young age. After experiencing scholastic hardship, he took time off from his dream of being a doctor to be an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. In that time, he got married and built up the courage to go back to school. Dr. Williamson graduated from Springfield College with a BS in 1958 and then graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine with his DO in 1967. Dr. Williamson’s purpose for going into medicine was because his father was a physician. After his father passed away at age 6, Dr. Williamson knew it was his destiny to get involved in medicine. He wanted to be one of the doctors that cared about his patients. Dr. Williamson interned at the Osteopathic Hospital in Portland, Maine, from 1967 to 1968. He also completed a residency in internal medicine at the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital in 1970 and a second residency in endocrine nuclear medicine at Wayne State University in 1972. Commencing his career in 1974, Dr. Williamson worked at the Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, as director of nuclear medicine, chairman of the department of internal medicine and director of the internal medicine residency program. He retired in 2003 after working at a private practice in Trenton. Beginning in 1972, Dr. Williamson was also an associate professor of medicine at Michigan State University. Dr. Williamson is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Nuclear Medicine Radio Isotopes Committee at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton since 1975, among other organizations. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Since his retirement, Dr. Williamson has been active with Gideons International, where as he distributes Bibles and give testimonies as to how Christ has changed his life. He wants to help others develop a personal relationship with Christ. He also enjoys skiing, golfing, yard work and listening to symphonies. His wife Patricia of 56 years passed to glory on January 7, 2018. Their three children are his legacy: Stewary, Malcoln and Anne. He also has five grandchildren.
