26 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine A well-known figure in the sports radio world, Freddie Coleman has hosted the Freddie Coleman Show weeknights from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET and Sundays 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on ESPN Radio since 2004. Mr. Coleman joined ESPN Radio in 2004 as a co-host of the then-nightly primetime program GameNight. Prior to joining ESPN Radio, Mr. Coleman was the weekday afternoon co-host of FoxSportsRadio 980-AM in Albany, New York, from 2002 to 2004. He worked for Cablevision of Dutchess County as a sportscaster for the local news in Wappingers Falls, New York, and as co-host of the weekly SportsScene show, as well as a color analyst for Marist Basketball from 1999 to 2000. Mr. Coleman also managed the on-air staff and created promotions at Oldies 97-WCZX-FM from 1999 to 2000 and was the overnight host at WPDH-FM 101.5 from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Coleman attributes his success to his belief and trust in himself and his abilities. He is a 1987 alumnus of Mansfield University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication. Looking forward, Mr. Coleman would like to be a professor of communications. With the expertise he has gathered from working in radio since 1988, Mr. Coleman believes he has a plethora of knowledge to pass on to the younger generation of radio hosts. Mr. Coleman is already involved with institutes of higher learning, as he is a volunteer at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Manchester Community College in Manchester, Connecticut. In 2017, Mr. Coleman was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, and he is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Mr. Coleman would advise others aspiring to work in the radio industry to realize it is not going to be easy, but the payoff is worth it. There is a lot of trial and error that most well known personalities had to endure to get to where they are now, whether it be on a local, regional or national level.
