265 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine C harles F. Brega comes from a family of lawyers in small town Nebraska. Law has been Mr. Brega’s passion since he was a young boy, and the only time he ever looked in another direction was when he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957. Mr. Brega was in and out of Korea for one year, and during that time he was a jet pilot. He retired as first lieutenant. Mr. Brega attended the Citadel Military College of South Carolina and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1954. In 1960, he obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Colorado and, that same year, was admitted to the Colorado Bar. Since then, Mr. Brega was named a Colorado Super Lawyer from 2005 to 2008, One of the Best Lawyers in Colorado by the Best Lawyers of America in 1983 and Professional of the Year in 1967. He has also been ranked in Top Ten Lawyers and Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the United States. Currently, Mr. Brega is director of Fairfield and Woods PC, a prominent Denver law firm specializing in litigation matters relating to family law, personal injury, and intellectual property. He has held this role since 2009. Mr. Brega has been a director of four other Denver firms throughout his career, including Lindquist & Vennum PLLP, Brega & Winters, Roath & Brega, and Hindry & Meyer, where he was also a partner and associate. Mr. Brega is a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the American Law Institute, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. He is also the former president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and former governor of the American Association for Justice. A respected speaker and lawyer, Mr. Brega has been invited as a guest professor at the University of Colorado, the University of Denver and the University of Nevada, Reno.
