271 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine R. Norwood Gay III’s interest in water boundary law began after his years serving with the U.S. Navy as an officer and his years sailing in high school. After obtaining his JD from the University of Florida’s in what is now known as the Fredric G. Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida, in 1965, he was admitted to the Florida Bar that same year. While in law school, Mr. Gay became curious about the law of boundaries between bodies of water and private uplands. He wrote his senior thesis on this topic, which was turned into an award-winning article published in the University of Florida Law Review, despite his college advisor’s disagreement with the topic. Remaining with his decision and passion for maritime law, Mr. Gay thus established the foundation for the remainder of his career. Pursuing a career focusing on real estate law, Mr. Gay was with the Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund LLC (The Fund), headquartered in Orlando, Florida, from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. The Fund promotes and facilitates real estate practices for Florida attorneys. The Fund also provides technology, education, marketing support and underwriting services to real estate attorneys. From 1991 to 2012, Mr. Gay served as senior vice president, general counsel, chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Upon his retirement, he served as special counsel. As a testament to his success, Mr. Gay was recognized by Marquis Who’s Who as a Top Professional in 2019 within the realms of law and entrepreneurship. Currently residing in Parrish, Florida, Mr. Gay is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and National Men’s Honorary Leadership Society. He attributes his success to diligent, hard work. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two children and five grandchildren. R.
