272 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine D riven to honor his family name, Arnold Albert Hafford received a BA in criminal justice from the University of Nevada-Reno in 1979 and a JD from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1982. Mr. Hafford always enjoyed language and had a desire to help others learn to write and speak. He was admitted to practice law in Nevada in 1982 and in California in 1983. Since the beginning of 2019, Mr. Hafford has been an attorney at Pearlman Brown & Wax, where he specializes in complex, high exposure and fraud cases. He has also developed an expertise in the AMA Guides and permanent disability rating, and enjoys the challenge of medical and legal integration and doctor cross- examinations. From 1996 to 2002, Mr. Hafford was the owner of his practice, the Law Offices of Arnold A. Hafford, in Reno. At the inception of his career in 1981, he was a legal intern at the Nevada Supreme Court and a law clerk and bailiff for District Judge John W. Barrett from 1982 to 1983. Additionally, Mr. Hafford has been an attorney at Coleman Chavez & Associates; Cipolla, Calaba, Marrone & Wollman; Chernow & Lieb Zenith Insurance Company; Mullen & Filippi; and the Law Offices of Edward M. Bernstein & Erwin. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Washoe County Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California. The highlight of Mr. Hafford’s career was when he was able to help a young child who was attacked by a wolfdog in Battle Mountain, Nevada, get justice under the doctrine joint-and-several liability for wild animals. Mr. Hafford’s theory was that the wolfdog should be treated strictly as a wild animal, and that the neighbors watching the wolfdog should be liable for all the damages. Mr. Hafford was able to win the case and earn money for the child from the neighbor’s homeowners insurance.
