There is much to consider regarding the beauty of the human condition, and in trying times, our nature to combine efforts into a collective force is quite remarkable. As Leigh Mitchell Hodges once wrote, “Failure is often that early morning hour of darkness, which precedes the dawning of the day of success.” Humanity’s seemingly innate gift to endure in the face of adversity embodies our communal strength, and in the wake of struggle, we leverage our strengths to begin anew. The year 2020 has already tested our anxieties, patience, resilience and self-reliance. However, even in our darkest hour, humanity has demonstrated its true core: the ability to persevere. We continue to demonstrate our tenacity to rise above defeat, all the while anchoring our goals in realism and innovations across industries, such as technology, health care, science, education and philanthropy. Though met with newfound challenges this year, businesses and individuals have swiftly learned to utilize technology to facilitate growth and continuity. Whether boasting a background in health care or law, engineering or education, art or religion, government or science, the prestigious roster of Marquis Who’s Who listees is one from which emerging professionals can most certainly draw inspiration. While leafing through the fifth edition of Millennium Magazine, I encourage you to derive inspiration from the distinguished individuals featured within. Though our current climate is rife with trepidation, we can take comfort and renew our spirits by reading the stories of others who have forged ahead and achieved greatness.
